Reversing the risk of staff losses

During a period of major restructuring, we found our staff becoming unsettled at all the changes.

One of our divisions was relocating to another country, another was to close and work would need to be reallocated within the new structure. We were very concerned about the risk of our high-value employees leaving during this period.

We decided to conduct face-to-face interviews with a representative sample of our employees.  People Solutions worked with and helped us gather feedback and views from staff.  This gave our staff a strong sense of buy-in and of being heard.

People Solutions then worked with us in deciding our priorities for action and in planning how we’d communicate the findings and proposed actions. Our people were delighted at being genuinely listened to and involved, and the whole group is now noticeably stronger as a result.

Getting to grips with change

In our area of the IT industry, good skills and expertise can be hard to find. This makes it doubly important to take into account regular views and feedback from our staff. Losing just one or two could have a serious impact on our business.

Some while back, as part of our ongoing commitment to our staff, we conducted an attitude survey of all employees. This showed us very clearly that we needed to take some remedial action in various areas in order to retain and motivate our employees.
